LEAPS is a team of 10 staff working in partnership with colleagues from a range of organisations. The information below provides a brief introduction to our history and partnership. For details of funding arrangements please see our annual report.

LEAPS was formed in 1995 as a partnership of the higher education institutions and councils in Edinburgh and Lothians, as well as Careers Scotland (now Skills Development Scotland). In November 2008, we expanded our work into the Scottish Borders when Scottish Borders Council and South East Forum joined the partnership. Most recently, we began working with four schools in Forth Valley as part of the Scottish Funding Council's Schools for Higher Education Programme (bringing the number of schools we support up to 59).

LEAPS exists with the support (financial and 'in-kind'), goodwill and expertise of the following partner organisations:
