What to expect as a LEAPS volunteer
As a student volunteer, you are welcome to take part in a wide range of school and campus based activities. You can do as many or a few as you like, depending on your studying and other commitments.
School based activities
School workshops take place in school, lasting for about 1 hour and are delivered between November and April. The age of the pupils that you will be dealing with varies from 14 to 17 year olds (S4-S6). Transport is provided to and from school. As a volunteer you would work with a small group of pupils, completing a series of short activities.

Campus based activities
S3 Campus Reporter
This is a half day event that normally runs from 09.30 until 12.00 and takes place on campus. It is helpful if you are familiar with the campus that the event is based at, however this is not essential as a full briefing will be provided. Most 'Campus Reporters' take place at the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University. However, we have held events at Napier University and plan to hold events at Queen Margaret University in the future.
